MELLOW JAPAN is run by Nanami Yamaki, based in Osaka, Japan. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We’ve tried to keep it short and plain.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry, we collect:
・Your name
・Your email address
・The information you give us about your booking: preferred dates, how many people, who’s bathing, whether anyone has tattoos, and anything else you tell us
If you sign up for our email updates, we collect your email address.
We don’t collect anything you don’t give us. We don’t use tracking cookies for advertising.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
Reply to your enquiry
Check availability and rules with the onsen on your behalf
Confirm and manage your booking
Send you email updates, if you’ve asked for them
That’s it. We don’t use your information for anything else.
Who we share it with
We share the details needed to make your booking (usually your name, the number of people, and your dates) with the onsen you’re booking. We don’t share anything more than the onsen needs.
We don’t sell your information. We don’t give it to advertisers or anyone else.
If you pay for a booking, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. You can read Stripe’s privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Email updates
If you sign up for email updates:
・We’ll only send them to the address you gave us
・Every email will say clearly that it’s from MELLOW JAPAN
・Every email will include a way to unsubscribe
・You can unsubscribe at any time, and we’ll stop straight away
Your consent, and how to withdraw it
By sending us an enquiry or signing up for updates, you agree to us using your information in the ways described here.
You can withdraw that consent at any time. Just email us at [email address] and we’ll delete your information, unless we need to keep it for a booking that’s already confirmed or for legal reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
・Tell you what information we hold about you
・Correct it
・Delete it
Email us at info@mellow-japan.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually within a few days.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as we need them to handle your booking, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you have questions. We keep email addresses on our update list until you unsubscribe.
How we protect it
Your information is stored on secure servers. Only the two of us who run MELLOW JAPAN have access to it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
